The Wagga Wagga Orchid Society was formed in 1985 as a non-profit organization for people to learn about orchids, share their knowledge and promote the growing of orchids.
Membership is open to anyone interested in growing orchids either as a novice or experienced grower. Members meet monthly to share their experience and show their orchids in a friendly social atmosphere.
Regular activities are organized and include bus trips to orchid shows, visits to orchid nurseries and other clubs as well as plant auctions to allow members to expand their collection. Experienced growers share their experience with potting demonstrations and growing tips. Members grow the full range of orchids from Australian natives to exotic Central and South American and Asian orchids.
Our web site has detailed orchid growing guides for many species including cymbidiums, cattleyas, coelogyne, dendrobiums, laelias, oncidiums, paphiopedilums, pleione and sarcochilus.
An annual show is the highlight of the year where members display their beautiful orchids and also sell surplus plants.
We meet the second Thursday of each month (except January) at 7pm in the ARCC Hall in Tarcutta St. Wagga Wagga.
Come and join us, visitors are very welcome.
